The legendary popularity of rubies goes all the way back to the glory days of the Chinese empire. The Emperor used to give his favorite ladies his best rubies as a symbol of his unending love. To this day the legend continues, Valentine day, the day of love is marked by red wrapped gifts and still the preferred stone of the occasion is the incredible ruby. Ruby is the birthstone of July.
